We are only born with two Fears - The Fear of Loud Noises, and Fear of Falling, all of the others are Self-Created /learned / thought, these can't be inherited from a previous generation, although they can be learned.
All you need to do is encounter something of a negative nature, maybe you heard it, saw it, thought of it (yes thought of it), or even felt it!! Your mind can increase the intensity, magnify or amplify it, really blow the whole incident out of proportion, at this point in now becomes a fear.
The good news is this can be overcome, many like the word 'cured', however when OCD is part of the situation 'some' say this is debatable, However, so far everyone I've worked with who have a fear, the issue has always disappeared!! Using Hypnosis and NLP a Fear can vanish very quickly, and often in one session, sometimes there are other issues and therefore can lead to several more.
Many people experience specific, intense, irrational fears about certain things, or situations:- Dogs, Closed-in places, Heights, Escalators, Tunnels, Dying, Driving, Water, Flying, Heath Fear, and injuries involving blood are a few of the more common ones.
Fears aren’t just extreme; they are irrational fears. You may be able to ski the world’s tallest mountains with ease but panic going above the 10th floor of an office building. Adults with phobias realize their fears are irrational, but often facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared object or situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety.
Specific Fears strike more than 1 in 10 people. They seem to run in families and are a little more prevalent in women. Fears usually first appear in adolescence or adulthood. They start suddenly and tend to be more persistent than childhood phobias; only about 20 percent of adult phobias vanish on their own.
When children have specific phobias–for example, a fear of animals–those fears usually disappear over time, though they may continue into adulthood. No one knows why they hang on in some people and disappear in others.
